General Classroom Expectations
Show up every day and participate to the best of your ability. Some days will be great. Some not so much. Whatever our "best" looks like any day is what we should expect.
Everyone has a voice in our classroom. Anyone can have good ideas and contribute to our learning. I have learned some very clever solutions from students of all backgrounds and abilities. Everyone deserves respect and and our objective consideration. Be nice and ask others to do the same.
We learn the most when asking questions and being comfortable with making errors. No one is born an expert. Everyone makes mistakes and experiences failure.
Class schedule & Extra Help
The school schedule has built in time for extra help. I arrive at school early every day and students are welcome to drop in Room 147 for extra help starting as early as 7:00. No appointment is necessary for extra help at this time. The dedicated STUDENT PREP time is the best time to meet in small groups or individually for extra help.
Students wanting extra help outside the prep time are asked to make an appointment during one of my planning periods or lunch so long as it is during a scheduled study hall or the student's lunch. Most of the time, we can meet in the classroom. However, if the library is a better location that is OK too.
I may have some times that I can meet with students after school, but due to my responsibilities and activities outside school hours, after school time may be limited. Please ask me if I am available and I will do my best to meet with you after school. I don't leave school until after 3:00.
